Order Splitting:
As Advent Skeins are a pre-order item shipping cannot be combined with other items. If you purchase any of our regular colourways at the same time as your Advent items the order will automatically be split in two and shipping will be charged for both orders.
Contrasting yarn
As in previous years you can choose to add upto 2 30g mini-skeins per Advent Skein using the buttons below.
This year we also offer a 100g skein skein of contrasting undyed yarn. This is a separate listing and will ship with your Advent Skein.
The 2026 Advent Skein is a brand new colourway and only available for a limited time.
All Advent Skeins are dyed on my 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon sock base (fingering weight). The Advent Skein weighs approx. 120g and comes split into two even half-skeins. You will receive a total of 4 repeats of 24 stripes (48 in each half-skein).
To have a finished pair of socks by Christmas Day you may need to knit more than one stripe daily, this depends on your personal gauge and the size you will be knitting.
The Cozy Knitter sock sets contain approamately 85g stripes and a 30g mini-skein.
DK sock sets contain approamately 85g stripes and a 40g mini-skein
Advent skeins are dyed on the 80/20 Sock base and weigh 120g.
80/20 SOCK: 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon. 413 yards/115 g

I highly recommend hand washing your knit items in cool or lukewarm water using a pH-neutral wool wash to keep them looking beautiful for as long as possible.
I use colourfast acid dyes for dyeing my yarn and rinse until the water runs clear. However, there is a chance that some dye may bleed slightly during the first few washes. For this reason, I suggest washing your items separately, especially during the first couple of washes.
If you have them available, it’s a good idea to use a "colour catcher" (similar to dryer sheets), which can be found in the laundry section of most stores. Some dyes, especially highly saturated colours like reds, blues, or speckled skeins, are more prone to bleeding. This is common for both hand-dyed and commercially dyed wool.
Important: Avoid washing your items in hot water, as this can break the bond between the fiber and the dye, potentially causing bleeding.
