2021 ADVENT | 24-stripe skein
I first came up with the idea of a 24-stripe advent skein in July 2018 as I was preparing my annual Christmas update. At the time I thought it would be fun to offer an alternative to the traditional mini-skein calendars. Originally I had hoped maybe 25-50 knitters would want to join in. To my surprise this concept was welcomed with open arms by knitters and close to 400 participated that first year. In 2020 we were up to a mind boggling 1500 participants! I am so glad that this is becoming a tradition for so many of you and I cannot wait for you to see this years version.
The 2021 Cozy Knitter 24-stripe advent skein will be on my Bliss base which is 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon and will be approx. 110-115g. The skein will be split into two even half-skeins each with 2 full repeats of 24 stripes, stripes are approx. 5-6 rows depending on your gauge. To have a finished pair of socks by Christmas Day you may need to knit more than one stripe daily, this depends on your personal gauge and the size you will be knitting.
This will be a brand new colourway and only available for a limited time. I may or may not choose to repeat this colourway at a later time.

The Cozy Knitter sock sets contain approamately 85g stripes and a 30g mini-skein.
DK sock sets contain approamately 85g stripes and a 40g mini-skein
Advent skeins are dyed on the 80/20 Sock base and weigh 120g.
80/20 SOCK: 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon. 413 yards/115 g
84/16 SILVER SOCK: 84% Superwash Merino and 16% Silver Stellina (3 ply), 413 yards per 115 g
84/16 GOLD SOCK: 84% Superwash Merino and 16% Gold Stellina (3 ply), 413 yards per 115 g
80/10/10 MCN SOCK: 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere and 10% Nylon (3 ply), 413 yards per 115 g
80/20 TWEED SOCK: 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Black Neps (3 ply), 413 yards per 115 g

75/25 DK: 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon. 125g (4.4oz), 280m (305yds)
I highly recommend hand washing your knit items in cool or lukewarm water using a pH-neutral wool wash to keep them looking beautiful for as long as possible.
I use colourfast acid dyes for dyeing my yarn and rinse until the water runs clear. However, there is a chance that some dye may bleed slightly during the first few washes. For this reason, I suggest washing your items separately, especially during the first couple of washes.
If you have them available, it’s a good idea to use a "colour catcher" (similar to dryer sheets), which can be found in the laundry section of most stores. Some dyes, especially highly saturated colours like reds, blues, or speckled skeins, are more prone to bleeding. This is common for both hand-dyed and commercially dyed wool.
Important: Avoid washing your items in hot water, as this can break the bond between the fiber and the dye, potentially causing bleeding.
