Shipping policy
Please take a moment to review our policies whenever you use our site. We reserve the right to update or modify them at any time.
CURRENCY
We are based in Canada and have implemented a multi-currency feature on our website, allowing both Canadian and international customers to view prices, pay for orders, and receive refunds in their local currency.
FORMS OF PAYMENT
We use Shopify Payments to securely process payments made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. PayPal is also accepted.
SALES TAX
All Canadian customers will be charged the applicable sales tax.
For EU customers, VAT is collected and remitted on your behalf for orders under €150. For orders above this threshold, you may be charged taxes and duties by your home country upon delivery.
US customers can rest assured that The Cozy Knitter yarns are exempt from tariffs under CUSMA. A small customs brokerage fee is included in the shipping and handling cost shown at checkout.
SHIPPING
We currently ship to Canada, the United States, and Europe, as well as the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
We use a variety of carriers, including Canada Post, USPS, PostNL, Chit Chats, and Purolator. In-stock yarn ships within 7–10 business days of order placement (often sooner). If there is a question about your order, we will contact you via email. You will receive a notification when your order ships.
Please note: We do not ship orders on weekends.
CANADA
Orders within Canada are shipped via Canada Post, Purolator, or UPS Standard, and are trackable and insured up to $100.
UNITED STATES
As of August 29, 2025, the US ended the de minimis exception, which previously allowed packages under $800 USD to enter without tariffs or duties.
Important:
Our yarns remain exempt from tariffs under CUSMA, and a small customs brokerage fee is included in your shipping cost. There will be no extra charges at checkout or upon delivery.
Parcels are shipped to the US via Chit Chats, with final delivery by USPS.

EUROPE
We now ship to EU countries.
Orders are shipped via International Tracked Packet (Chit Chats) with the following flat rates:

EU Flat Rate (orders under $150 CAD): $18 CAD

EU Flat Rate (orders over $150 CAD): $30 CAD
VAT for orders under €150 will be collected and remitted on the customer’s behalf. For orders above this threshold, you may be charged duties and taxes by your home country upon delivery.
UNITED KINGDOM
Minimum order requirement: £135 (see explanation below).
Orders are shipped via International Tracked Packet and insured up to $100.

UK Flat Rate: £20 GBP
Because we do not currently have a UK VAT number, nor the ability to collect and remit duties or taxes, we require a minimum purchase amount of £135 for all UK orders. For orders over this threshold, you will be responsible for paying any sales tax or customs fees when your package enters the country. These fees are determined by your local authorities.
AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND
Orders are shipped via Tracked Packet International (Canada Post) and are insured up to $100.
Customers are responsible for any applicable customs fees, duties, and taxes.
LOST PACKAGES
Unfortunately, The Cozy Knitter Inc. is not responsible for packages that do not arrive. While we are happy to help answer questions, the shipping carrier must be contacted directly for resolution.
Packages shipped via Canada Post may be tracked at canadapost.ca or by calling 1-866-607-6301.
The Cozy Knitter Inc. is not responsible for lost or stolen packages that are sent without tracking.
REFUSED PACKAGES
If you refuse your order and it is returned to us, you will be refunded the cost of the yarn only. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Returns from the US incur mandatory border processing fees. Therefore, refunds for refused/returned packages will reflect the cost of the yarn minus a $10 CAD restocking charge and shipping.
INCORRECT ADDRESSES
We are not responsible for orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided by the customer, and refunds will not be issued for packages lost for this reason.
RETURNS
We want you to love your yarn! Please contact us right away if you are not satisfied with your purchase, if an item arrives damaged, or if you receive the wrong product.
We accept returns within 10 days of receipt, and items must be unused, in sellable condition, and in their original packaging. Please note that sale items and special pre-orders are non-refundable.
Unless the error was on our part, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit.

Refunds for U.S. Returns

EXCHANGES
We do not offer exchanges at this time. However, eligible returns can be made within 10 days of receiving your order. Please see the return policy above.
A NOTE ABOUT WINDING YARN
We know how exciting it is to start knitting right away, and we wish we could offer yarn winding for every order. At this time, we are unable to provide this service, as it helps us maintain efficient workflow and timely shipping. Thank you for your understanding.
COLOURS
We do our best to represent yarn colours accurately. However, dye lots vary, and computer or device screens may display colours differently. Minor variations may occur.
ERRORS, INACCURACIES & OMISSIONS
From time to time, information on our site may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions related to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, offers, or availability. We reserve the right to correct or update information at any time, including after an order has been submitted.
PRIVACY POLICY
